Thin Place

Thin Place is an inclusive Christian gathering to help students uncover life's meaning by cultivating faith, being in community, and growing in wisdom. We gather twice each month on Sunday nights to share dinner, pray for each other, share our lives, and receive communion from a local Protestant minister. The first gathering each month is for students to creatively explore scripture and build community. Communion is served at the second gathering of each month by a local Protestant minister. Dinner is always included!

There is a tradition in the lands we think of as Celtic that there are special places in the world where the veil between heaven and earth is "thin." We gather in the same belief the our presence with each each other makes the presence of God all the more clear (Matt 18:18-20).

At every Thin Place, we open with these words:

In God’s presence we are one. So, welcome one and all.
In joy,
in pain,
in love,
and in doubt – we are for you and we are with you, so come as you are.

Welcome to all who are loud/quiet, gay/straight, dark/light, book-loving, Netflix-binging,
and every which human way. 

In God, we are welcome and we are one.
