Brian Pirman has spent his life producing “Fine Art Graphic Design & In-Between” and from Aug. 26 through Oct. 31, his work will take over all the Bush Art Center galleries at St. Norbert College for everyone to see. A special reception for Pirman will be held at the galleries on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Aug. 26.

Pirman, associate professor of art at St. Norbert since 1997, will present a 45-year retrospective journey that includes stops in Madison, Chicago, the design department at Oscar Mayer Foods and, for the past 27 years, St. Norbert College.

I’ve been very fortunate throughout my years of study and various career opportunities to have known and worked with tremendous mentors and colleagues,” said Pirman. “I have been especially inspired and motivated by my colleagues and students in the art discipline at St. Norbert College; they’ve been influential in my life as an educator and artist.”

With a background in fine art and graphic design, Pirman’s experience includes corporate identity, logotype, collateral, poster, signage and web design, as well as brand equity and package design. He has received numerous awards for his work.

Pirman currently spends time in the fine art realm experimenting with digital imaging, which involves electronic image manipulation focusing on color, form, texture and patterns. His primary goal is to create engaging and thought-provoking work. His inspirations are drawn from fine art, film, nature and popular culture.
