The St. Norbert College community honored Marie Marsh, registration coordinator, with the 2024 Exceptional Service Award on Thursday, Aug. 15. Marsh has served the college for over 10 years, working first for St. Norbert College Parish and currently in the Registrar’s Office.
“Those who work alongside Marsh note that she embodies the principles of communio and radical hospitality, which are vital to our mission and core values,” said St. Norbert College President Laurie Joyner. “She fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment, one in which students and colleagues feel valued and supported. Her ability to create a positive and collaborative atmosphere is truly commendable and sets a standard for excellence within our college community,” Joyner added.
Others referenced the knowledge she brings to her position, one person calling Marie an “invaluable and knowledgeable resource [with] an astonishing grasp of courses and requirements.” Another noted Marie is “expertly knowledgeable, effective at problem-solving” and adept at “working with all entities across campus in communio.” That view was reinforced by a colleague who works regularly with Marie and noted she is “an exceptional problem solver” who adeptly navigates complex challenges in registration processes. Yet another colleague noted, “It is nice to know that a phone call to the Registrar’s Office will result in a pleasant interaction with Marie in addition to immediate help with what I am calling about.”
The Exceptional Service Award is given annually to a staff employee (hourly or salaried) for service above and beyond normal work expectations. Nominations are submitted by St. Norbert College faculty and staff.
