Services and Appointments

Counseling Services offers a variety of services – all of which are covered by the student health fee. Please review the information below to determine which service might best serve your needs. If you’re not sure, please give us a call (anonymously if you like) and we’ll be happy to advise you.

Group Opportunities
Our Counselors are here to help you navigate through college life. The following group sessions are geared toward positive outcomes. Join now!

Pathways
Pathways is an introductory counseling workshop that is educational, interactive and designed to accelerate the change process. It is not group therapy. It is two meetings over a one-week period that are quick and to-the-point. The meetings cover three key areas we have found most helpful for students: conflict resolution, anxiety/stress and mindfulness.  Call 920-403-3266 or email health@snc.edu for further information.

Sisters: Connect and Discover
Sisters: Connect and Discover is an eight-week group for women to support self-esteem, manage moods and emotions, and strengthen relationships. Call 920-403-3266 or email health@snc.edu for further information.

Transitions
Transitions is offered twice weekly in the beginning of the Fall semester as a support group for students having a difficult time adjusting to college life.

Services
Biofeedback
Learn to bring your brain, mind, body and emotions into balanced alignment. Use HeartMath to focus on your heart rate and breathing to improve performance, build resiliency and relieve stress. Contact us to learn how to use the program. It is designed to be self-directed and/or can be used in conjunction with counseling.

Party.O
Party.0 are alcohol-free parties hosted monthly by two residential-themed community houses. Contact us for information on the next party.

Individual Counseling Sessions Services
Counseling sessions are available at no charge to any enrolled degree-seeking St. Norbert College student or MCW-Green Bay student who has paid the student health fee.

Appointments
Scheduled appointments are available for students interested in speaking with a counselor when the situation is not considered an emergency. We schedule these appointments within 3-5 days and sometimes sooner. The intake appointment is typically 50 minutes and follow-up meetings will be determined as the presenting issues are discussed with your counselor.

Crisis Appointments and After-Hours Care
Crisis appointments are available at any time. If you feel at risk of harming yourself or others, simply call us or walk over and let us know you need immediate assistance, and we’ll find a way to meet with you.

After-hour contact (Outside of M-F 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and on all holidays) should be coordinated through Campus Safety at 920-403-3299. Campus safety will assist in connecting with the local Crisis Center at 920-436-8888 or 988 for mental health emergencies.

Alcohol and Other Drug (AODA) Appointments
These appointments are for students that have been referred by an area coordinator or a Judicial Affairs representative, as part of the sanctioning process. The first meeting is 60 minutes and is similar in format to first appointments. A follow-up meeting of 30-55 minutes is included to follow up on information obtained in the first meeting. The goal is to help you understand the outcome of your actions.  All the information shared is confidential; the only thing an Area Coordinator, or the Office of Judicial Affairs will know is that you have attended the appointment and that you have successfully completed the meeting(s) that were assigned to you.

If you’d like to schedule an appointment with one of our staff members, please contact us at 920-403-3266 or schedule an appointment online.
